Our Vision
At the Mindfulness and Health Institute (MHI), we envision a world where mindfulness serves as a cornerstone for personal and collective flourishing. We believe that by cultivating wakefulness, mutuality, and respect, we can inspire actions that enhance well-being and bridge the divides that create suffering and separation.
MHI is dedicated to being a trusted leader in the field of mindfulness, providing thoughtfully designed courses and events that integrate the latest research and best practices. Our commitment to participatory and community health reflects our belief that true well-being emerges from an inclusive and collaborative approach to mindfulness. We honor diversity and seek to create spaces where all voices and perspectives are valued.
We strive to foster a community rooted in compassion, generosity, and the pursuit of knowledge. By embracing science and research, we ensure that our offerings are grounded in evidence while also respecting the wisdom of diverse traditions, self-awareness, and intuition. Our focus on fairness and inclusion guides everything we do, as we work to make mindfulness accessible to all, regardless of background or experience.
As an antidote to isolation, the many practices of mindfulness come-together and create a world where mindfulness is not just a practice but a way of being—a world where each individual can develop a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them, leading to greater health, happiness, and harmony.
Advisory Council
The Mindfulness and Health Institute (MHI) is committed to providing high-quality programming that is firmly grounded in evidence-based, evidence informed, and innovative practices. The role of MHI’s Advisory Council is to provide academic and scientific council to ensure the integrity and relevance of courses. This council advises on issues of evidence-based and evidence-informed standards, current research, and accessibility to diverse populations. This involves evaluating the empirical basis, limitations, biases and risks associated with curricula content and materials. The advisory council also reviews course evaluations that identify areas in need of improvement and makes recommendations to leadership.
This advisory council is composed of mindfulness-based trainers, instructors, researchers, clinicians and leadership. Individually and collectively, they provide academic rigor, invaluable skills, unique perspectives and integrity as our wise advisors.
Leadership and Staff include: Colin Murphy, RN, MBA, President and Managing Director, Dianne Horgan, Vice President and Course Director, and Katie Morales, MS, Research and Project Coordinator.
